Veteran
motorsports broadcaster Jim Tretow brings enthusiasm and experience to The Racing
Roundup as the shows main host. At first, he was a tag-along to his older brother's karting events, never having the money to fund his own racing efforts. Soon, he was public address announcing kart events at Badger Raceway in Dousman, WI, which led to national PA stints with the World Karting Association at Daytona Int'l Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway on an annual basis. Weekly race track PA jobs included 2 ½ years at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI, and as a PA cohort and race reporter with the late Tom Klippel at Hales Corners Speedway. In addition Tretow currently handles Phoenix Int'l Raceway PA announcing for their IRL and NASCAR event weekends, and has thrived on the opportunity to work Milwaukee Mile CART and NASCAR events, in addition to hundreds of special events and major sanctioned races contested locally and nationally. For the past nine years, Tretow has been involved with radio and television coverage of the ASA Racing Series. For the sixth straight year, he is involved in television coverage of the ASA Racing Series on The National Network, this year as the lead pit reporter at all 20 scheduled events. Tretow brings a thorough knowledge of many forms of motorsports to the program, and has a curious yet relaxed approach with show guests. He keeps the race fan's interest at heart, is a student of the sport and enjoys providing a forum for local racers and unique personalities in motorsports.
With the opportunity provided by The Racing Roundup Show starting in 1987, Tretow
has gained an inside knowledge of the sport through research and press access
to local and major motorsports events. His personal relationship with many area
racers and bigger personalities in the sport keep the show entertaining and insightful.
